We will update this website as we get closer to the actual event, so check back every now and then!

Location

Our wedding party will be held on the island of Pampus, a historic fort in the IJmeer, ca 10 km from Amsterdam. In the past, this man-made island protected the harbour of Amsterdam. Now even the Germans are allowed to visit again. Furthermore, the island is filled with somewhat crumbling concrete, which makes Natalie very happy.

Getting There & Schedule

Our esteemed guests have a choice of either taking their own vessel to the island or taking our private ferry "Sailboa". Our ferry leaves from IJburg harbour (Google Maps). To get to IJburg harbour, you can take Tram 26 from Amsterdam Centraal (ca. 25 minutes). Cars are best left at the P+R Zeeburg (Google Maps), from where you can take the tram as well.

Our ferry leaves from IJburg harbour at 16:20 (4:20 PM). The ferry will be in the harbour well before that, so there is really no downside in being there a bit earlier. The trip takes ca. 40 minutes. If you are taking your own boat, please be moored at the island at 17:00.

Note: The "normal" ferry to Pampus leaves from Muiden. Ours has a bar and leaves from IJburg. Hence, please do not go to Muiden!

On the island, various activities will be held. There will be a reception, a dinner, and some dancing, hopefully. Depending on how you feel about those, you can take the ferry back at 22:00 or 01:00. For the later return trip, please let us know if you need help arranging transport back home.

Places to stay

We can recommend the very sustainable Four Elements Hotel. This hotel is right next to IJburg harbour where the ferry leaves from and returns to.

Technicalities

  • Children: You are welcome to bring your children to the festivities, we are bringing ours. Please let us know if you also plan to do so, we are arranging childcare and entertainment for them.
  • Program: If you would like to embarass us within the festive program, please arrange this with our witnesses Daša Majcen (dasamajcen@gmail.com) and Lisa Mühleisen (hi@lisamuehleisen.com).
  • Presents: Please remember that we live on a ship and have limited space available. So that grand piano will regrettably have to wait. Please don't feel obliged to get us anything, your presence is present enough.
  • Dress Code: Whatever floats your boat. Californians Disclaimer: We celebrate on an island, probably both outside and inside. While its the middle of summer, the weather in the Netherlands is unpredictable. Prepare for temperatures between 15 and 30 Celsius (60 to 100), there will hopefully be some more clarity in the days immediately beforehand. Below the current weather and a forecast. While hats were initially encouraged as a joke, some people have taken this very seriously. Regardless, feel free to participate, there may or may not be a trophy for the best hat.
  • Dogs: Unfortunately dogs are not allowed on the island. Feel free to bring your duck though.
